General Description: The naz wooden residence inn is a petite, cute hotel located near the sultanahmet mosque and the st.Sophia museum. It is situated in the residential part of sultanahmet in the ahyrkapy district. The ahyrkapy locality is also known as the residence of turkish gypsies that makes it more colorfull and ritzy as a survivor of a glorious cultural heritage. It is a 130 year-old unique residence that has been recently restored. An fundamental detail distinguishing naz from other wooden houses is that it also contains the remains of an older building made of stone, which dates back to the 8th century and is a secondary building of the byzantine palace. The remnants of the historic building are preserved in the indoors walls of naz, as are some of the original byzantine arches and columns. Although some part of the building was regrettably destroyed, with the consent of the commission for historical monuments, it was rebuilt with its outer as an precise replica of the original home. Today, it serves as a model for traditional and gracious accommodation. It is a non-smoking hotel and has seven cave-like rooms with bathroom and shower, and other ultramodern facilities such as air conditioning, centremost heating, cable tv, mini bar, and hair-dryer. The indoors of the rooms reflects the exotic beauty of byzantine and classic ottoman empire decoration. All the rooms are decorated with rustic wooden furniture and turkish handcrafts, which are the samples of neo-classic ottoman art.
